United States approach to combatting global terrorism and necessity of international cooperation

The aim of this thesis is to study the emergence of global terrorism and the phenomenon of new terrorism, to discuss the United States approach to global terrorism and its counter terrorism politics and also to analyze the international co-operation units and to put forward the role and the neccesity of international cooperation in preventing global terrorism. The starting point of this thesis is relied on that the United States counter terrorism politics is not effective and the international co-operation will be more efficient. In this study, the transformation of terrorism and the features of the new terrorism are firstly focused on. Then the relationship between globalizm and terrorism explained and the concept of global terror is studied. After that the counter terror policies of United States especially after the September 11 attacks and the critics of these policies are concentrated on. In the last part, the role of the international organizations in combatting global terrorism and the importance of international co-operation emphasized.
