Abstract (EN)

In this dissertation, we have tried to give an explanation about the impact ofmultinational corporations over privatizations which have been used as an economypolicy instrument for the reconstruction of the economies during globalization process.With the globalization process, which has accelarated since 1980?s and hasn?tfinished its formation yet, there has been rapid changes in political, cultural andeconomical fields.Economical changes, the true shaping part of the globalization process, hasturned the whole world to one market by using the facilities of emergingcommunication and information technologies. As a result of the new form of econmicalrelations, multinational corporations has gained more importance day by day. Moreover,they even become more powerful than goverments.In thıs reconstruction process of economies, the place of goverments ineconomic relations has been one of the most discussed issues. Today, although thisdiscussions are still carried on, the process has been evolving through minimizing thegoverment share in economy and making the free market economy direct the worldeconomy. Privatizations have been the instrument of these policies.On this context, after mentioning the relationship between multinationalcorporations and globalization, the role and part of multinational corporations in theprivatizations that have been made in the world and in Turkey is observed.
