Abstract (EN)

Cultural, political, and technological transformation has been occurred with globalization. Economically, the world economy has become a single market, countries have become more competitive. Advancements have been appended by rapid developments in technology, and alterations occurred in production factors and labor pool in the economy. Countries attaches priority to technological activities which is low-cost, high-efficiency and fast production to be in competition brought by globalization. Whist this situation had negative impact on production activities, it increased requirement for qualified occupational groups in labor pool. Therefore, unemployment has become the focus of policies in all countries. In the study, the globalization process and unemployment will be examined through Turkey by accentuating the burgeoning technology factor. Accordance to globalization, Turkey's state in unemployment and its progress are investigated. The vital variables about development of technology were inspected with statistical data. The study's core is 1990-2018. The OECD founding members are conferred in the analysis of unemployment rates around the world. Ultimately, it is monitored unemployment in Turkey did not indicate a consistent development during globalization. Observations reveal negative correlation between unemployment rates to education level does not occur in Turkey, and that unemployment reveals a contrasting development compared to the world. Whilst, observed that there is a steady increment in human capital and R&D expenditures in Turkey, there is no positive or negative correlation between these increases and unemployment. Ultimately, Turkey has positive developments, nevertheless, these developments could not attain the desired level in unemployment rates.
