Globalization, culture and the future of thenation state

Today's modern society tries to put it into a concept in order to make sense of the period in which it lives. Since the beginning of the Gregorian calendar, world history, which has been divided into sections according to important historical events such as the first age, the middle age, and the new age, lives its global age today. Globalization, which we can see as a result of the progress in information and communication technologies; concept, development, economy, cultural, social dynamics and more are examined from many dimensions. In this direction, the reflection of the phenomenon called globalization to the political dimension is through the nation state. The fact that the nation state and globalization phenomena are generally viewed from an economic perspective causes the emergence, development and changes of these phenomena to be viewed in a dimensionally focused way. In this sense, although it is a relative concept, culture; With its roots based on the past and its dynamic structure, it offers more robust data in order to make sense of today's world where speed and accessibility increase. The importance of the cultural dimension of globalization is present at this point, but it is important for the future of nation-state structures. Because globalization is trying to melt all different identities in a single pot with the aim of creating a supranational homogeneous culture. On the other hand, it is seen in an effort to create a multicultural society by enabling the revival of sub-identities instead of national identity in nation-state structures. In this direction, this study has been carried out to reveal how the cultural dimension of globalization has consequences in terms of nation-state structuring and how being pregnant with a cosmopolitan or multicultural society, which is assumed to be nourished by globalization, has an effect on national states. The study was carried out by making a comprehensive literature review and trying to reach primary sources.
