Transformation of poverty and income distribution in Turkey in globalization process

Together with innovations and expansions on commerce, communication and transportation networks, technological developments had an increasing importance and impact on world economy. In contrast with all these developments and innovations, the problem of poverty and injustice based upon income distribution still maintains its importance. Due to global presence of this important problem, first part of this study will set a framework of globalization by defining its history, dynamics and scales. Second part will discuss the dynamics of global finance on Turkey's economy and Turkey's attempts -specifically in the year of 1980- to position itself in global finance area This part will also review the Turkey's financial crises related to impact of global finance. Lastly, third part of the study will discuss the scale changes on poverty and income distribution in Turkey by the impact of globalization process, based on the recent economic data.
