Globalization's impact on curriculia (sample of the currıculum of the 4th grade of socıal studıes course in primary education)

These values are expected to be carried by these new ideal types ofstudents. The second aim of this study is to introduce the new curriculum, ?the 4thGrade of Social Studies Course in Primary Education?, in terms of philosophy ofeducation and the approach which the curriculum is based on.In this study whose subject is globalization?s impact on curriculia, it isdebated whether or not the base education philosophy of the new curriculum (the 4thGrade of Social Studies Course in Primary Education) meets the necessities whichglobalization offers in the ground of postmodernist education philosophy and thenew curriculum approaches as well as the classical and contemporary ones.While the cultural dimention of the globalization is emphasized in the firstpart of chapter one, the second part of the chapter with the limitations on globalcultural disscussions, indicates the influences of some different concepts like?information society?, ?multiculturalism?, ?postmodernism?, ?democracy education?and ?human rights? on the new value system. The second chapter is about new trendsand approaches on the ground of philosophy of education. The third chapterintroduces the sample curriculum in terms of its sociological and philosophicalbackground. Finally, the globalization?s impact on curriculum and all otherconsiderable issues are evaluated.
