The analysis of sociocultural thought structure and Turkey

The globalization which surrounds, affects, changes, develops, manages, shapes, limits and restricts every part of the life is a process having bidirectional function. The globalization has affected the structures, the bases of dependency and belonging, values, value judgments, thoughts, beliefs, morals and lifestyles of people, societies and states. The globalization that started with economy has expanded its scope towards political, social and cultural globalization. The globalization has attracted the world to a network society with the capital and advanced technology; humanity has entered a big change process. From this point of view, it is necessary to make a healthy analysis of globalization by reviewing the sociocultural effects of globalization process and by diagnosing, identifying and analyzing its thought structure. It is a necessity and even a compulsion for humanity's peace and future to make common plan, projects and programs, to determine the methods and collaboration, to come to a mutual agreement, to practice the successful studies to the life. The purpose of this thesis study is to search answers to the questions like "What is globalization? When and how did it emerge in history? What are its ideology, content and effects? How and in what way does it continue today? How are its definitions in science world and how should a correct definition be made? Who are the global system and dominant powers and what is understood?" From this point of view, to be able to shed light on researchers interested in globalization, sub-questions based on a basic question have been created as this research is a qualitative one: What is the sociocultural thought structure of the globalization? By analyzing economic, political, social and cultural thought structure, this study presents what vulnerable states, societies and people should do against these effects via giving examples from the structures of societies and civilizations that became successful by protecting the basic humanitarian values in history. In our study, the globalization has been comprehensively investigated. The sovereignty of the global economic and social structures over the world has been assessed; the sociocultural thought structure of the globalization has been analyzed by taking into consideration the effects of communication technology, network society and social media. Sociocultural effects continue by broadening their scope and growing. With this study, observations and determinations made on the area in question, remarkable approaches and inferences for people, society and states have been presented. The definition of globalization, building of global mentality, basic social values, historical examples that will provide benefits to globalization process and current application suggestions have been submitted. Our study will be a step to some extent for researchers to be able to make more comprehensive studies on the thought structure and analysis of globalization and to concentrate on this subject. In this manner, what should be done intended to Turkey's accumulation and responsibilities in the national and global context have been stated.
