Philanthropy in Turkish education system in accordance with institution principals and philanthropists' views

This research aims to provide a trial model proposal by evaluating the concept of philanthropy in the managerial and organizational processes of education. With this aim, case study from qualitative research methods was used. The study group consisted of 7 principals of educational institution and 5 philanthropists living in the provinces of Eskişehir and Konya. The data of the research was collected by a semi-structured interview form. During the interviews, philanthropic process in educational organizations, the difficulties faced by the philanthropists and the principals of educational organizations, the motivational sources, data about the control mechanisms and the sustainability were tried to be obtained. According to the data obtained at the end of the research, it was revealed that philanthropist and principals who gave and receieved the charity faced with some difficulties due to the lack of system and central structure, besides that it was obtained that it is needed to establish a central unit in order to make the control of the process, rewarded and appriciation more efficient and systematic. In order to achieve a sustainable structure, the necessity of technological infrastructure such as web site and SMS line was also revealed. In accordance with the findings, some suggestions were made and a trial model proposal was developed at the end of the study.
