Abstract (EN)

Key Words: Ethernet, ATM, Service Quality Enterprise networks can be set up different communication technologies. Two of them are Ethernet and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode). One technology can choose based on the network that want to be formed. The main difference betwenn these technologies is service quality policies. While ATM can apply these policies with it?s own service classes, ethernet technology needs a outher service quality policy. In the first section, giving an info about this thesis. In the second section explaining generel properties, types, frame structure and sub-protocols of ethernet technology. Describing properties and their uses in service quality policies that is needed by the ethernet technology. Especially voice traffic is detailly studied that is a real time traffic. In the third section, talking about ATM technology. Explained cell structure, sub-layers, service classes, switching and connection style of this technology. In the fourth section, transferring the technologies into the simulation environment that telling about in the preceding sections and for getting the results, the needed parameters of these simulations are putted in order. In the last section, the results are compared and discuss about these technologies performances.
