The proposal of an expanded information systems success model for enterprise resource planning systems

Abstract (EN)

The transition to information systems is highly expensive and risky digitalization movements requiring organizations? dramatic change. In this process; non-satisfying performance, extended project duration, highly raised cost and even the end of the project can be witnessed. Organizations need broad scanned and extensive measurement frameworks which will support the evaluation of information systems.The aim of this work is to examine and implement the Information Systems Success Model, which is one of the Information Systems efficiency models, through Turkish sampling; and to add to the model the factors related to workgroup (human) and processes, and Information Systems organization, which have been determined to be effective in the success of Information Systems. In line with this aim, the survey questions and hypotheses of the work have been prepared, and the model proposed for research has been devised. First and foremost, the necessary data have been acquired through surveying in order to scale the model and the variants proposed in the model. In accordance with the aims and the hypotheses of the work, causal research method has been adopted; and through the use of primary data, the scaling of the variants included in the model and of the relations between these variants have been aimed. Regarding the variants, the data have been processed with the Confirmatory Factor Analysis in order to express the scaling power of the statements included in the survey form by means of the acquired data. The analysis have been made by using Structured Equation Modeling for the purpose of controlling whether the model worked for the proposed variants related to IS Organization, Workgroup (Human) and Processes.As a conclusion, it has been noted that Information Systems Organization proposed for the Information Systems Success model has positive and meaningful effects on the factors related to Workgroup (Human) and Processes and on the net gains composed of the Individual and Organizational Effects of Information Systems. Besides, the proposed factors have positive and meaningful effects on user satisfaction. No meaningful effects of Organization Quality, Process Quality and Workgroup (Human) Quality have been detected on usage. The effect of System Quality on usage and satisfaction has been confirmed, whereas Information Systems Quality has been detected to have no meaningful effects on usage. In general, the adaptive values of the proposed model have been found to be meaningful, while not all of the proposed relations have been proved to be meaningful. Therefore, it is suggested that the proposed model should be developed in more detailed studies in future.
