Abstract (EN)
The family is the smallest unit of the society, so the values gained in the family actually shape the society lived from current generation to next generation. The prerequisite of living in a peaceful society is that people have a tolerant attitude towards each other. Because the developments in the field of technology, the changes in the social sphere, the great events experienced affect the lives and behavior of people, and generations are born from these changes. For generations, having a happy life together depends on respecting each other's differences and accepting situations that are separate from them, in short, tolerance. The value of tolerance, which has begun to be learned in the family and passed on through generations, is a value that should be given importance because it increases the welfare level of the society and enables people to live a happy and peaceful life. Due to the importance of the subject, it is aimed to determine of tolerance tendency levels of individuals in different generations (Z, Y, X and BB) and to examine tolerance tendencies according to generations, gender, marital status, education status, place of residence, number of siblings, income levels, parents' education levels, tolerance perceptions towards family and society. The study group of the research consists of 1477 participants, 411 Z generation, 447 Y generation, 367 X generation and 252 BB generation living in Sakarya. The data of the research were collected after the scales were distributed to the participants and they were filled in. "Tolerance Tendency Scale-Adult Form" was used as data collection tool. The scale consists of two sub-dimensions as respect for differences and acceptance and a total of 10 items. For the independent variables in the study, the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher was used. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed with the SPSS 20.0 package program. The histogram graph, kurtosis and skewness values were examined to determine whether the data was normally distributed or not, and Kolmogorov-Smirnow test was performed, and as a result, it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. In terms of the results obtained, while parametric tests (t-test, one way anova, correlation analysis) are used in the data where the variances are homogeneously distributed, the non-parametric tests (kruskal-wallis-h, mann whitney-u) are preferred in cases where the variances are not homogeneously distributed or that the number of people in each group is not sufficient. According to the results of the study, when the tolerance tendencies of the participants and their sub-dimensions (respect for differences and acceptance) are examined; it was determined that the tolerance tendencies of the participants were at a high level. When the tolerance tendencies of the participants are analyzed on the basis of generations; that tolerance tendencies differ significantly according to generations; It did not show significant differences according to gender and marital status variables; According to education levels and place of residence variables, there are significant differences in general total, X and Y generations, no significant differences in Z and BB belts; According to the number of siblings, there is a significant difference only in the X generation, there is no significant difference in the overall total and Z, Y, BB generations; According to the income levels, there are significant differences in the grand total and X generation, there are no significant differences in Z, Y and BB generations; There are significant differences in the overall total Z, Y and X generations according to the education levels of the mothers, there is no significant difference in the BD generation; There are significant differences in father education levels, general total and Y, X and BB generations, there is no significant difference in Generation Z; In addition, it was found that there was a positive and significant relationship between the tolerance tendencies of the participants towards the family and society in general.
