Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to evaluate Kutadgu Bilig, who is one of the most important sources of the history of Turkish culture, in terms of leadership training. First, in this context, the Turkish state to the understanding, the basic elements of the Turkish state thinking (independence,kut-a belief in power of leading given by God-, sovereignty, people), the state elements of the Turkish managers of leadership understanding, Karahan state and Kutadgu Bilig, who is our main source of work, is briefly mentioned. Then, the leaders and the leadership definitions, the difference between managers and leaders, the basic leadership qualities, leadership theory and leadership styles are given briefly. In the last section, couplets which are concerned with the leadership in Kutadgu Bilig are identified and these verses are classified under seven headings in terms of basic leadership qualities. Classified couplets are assessed and reviewed separately in terms of today's leadership style and of leadership understanding and of today's contemporary leadership theories. At the end of the study, similarities are found in many areas between the period of Kutadgu Bilig in which the concept of leadership was written and today's leadership understanding. Depending on the data obtained as a result of this research various suggestions have been made. Key Words: Kutadgu Bilig, Yusuf Has Hacib, Leadershıp, happiness, dominance
