Abstract (EN)

Kütahya province carry out research the surveys and excavations as a result of was understood that the city has hosted many civilization in different periods. In ancient times Kütahya is located within the borders of Phrygia and its western parts the Mysia region while the ancient city Kotiaeion is located in the center of today's Kütahya, within the borders of present day Kütahya city that minted coins in their own name antient Aizanoi, Appia, Ankyra-Sidera, Kodai, Kotiaeion, Synaus ve Tiberiopolis, during the Roma Period historically, it shows that Kütahya is an important archeological settlement. This study is aimed to scientific evaluation of the 63 pieces terracotta figurines registered in the inventory of Kütahya Archeology Museum this pieces has reached way of purchase, grant, confiscation, excavation and survey in the museum. The figurines were categorized as goddess, god, woman, man and toy in terms of typological, iconographic and stylistic. Its iconographic origins and technical features have been investigated, and dating has been done by comparing them with the help of analogies. The social and religious connections of the figurines in the region were examined, their common points and differences with similar types were revealed, and the region-specific features in coroplast art were tried to be determined. As a result of the evaluations, among the terracotta figurines, those that could be related to the religious beliefs and cultural characteristics of the region were determined and clues about the region's coroplast art, belief system and votive culture were found.
