Abstract (EN)

Boron and Boron compounds have broad using areas. In our country, the production plants that produce the concentrate of boron compounds / minerals have a waste amount of 600 thousand per year. To revaluate the waste boron compounds, three methods have been developed. These methods are the storing waste compounds in suitable places, recovering them and using them in suitable sectors. In this study, waste boron compound from the plant of Emet in Kutahya was researched whether it is usable in gypsum plasterboard production or not. At the end of the study, it is found that the waste boron compound in gypsum plasterboard accelarated the setting time of gypsum slurry. Moreover, the flexural and compressive strength of gypsum board increased and the water absorption value of the board reduced by the waste compound .By using waste boron compound in gypsum plaster board, cost of production will decrease and more durable gypsum plasterboards that suit the related standards will be produced.
