Kütahya suicide case: The Central district of the survey

The concept of suicide has emerged as a behavioural pattern that has survived its existence throughout the human history and affected human beings profoundly with its ultimate consequences. Although the act of suicide, a move that is counter to a person?s purpose to exist in the world, seems an individual action, it ultimately turns out to be a social one as it concerns the family and acquaintances of the suicide.Being multi-dimensional and complicated as far as its causes are concerned, the suicidal behaviour represents one of the most critical problems of modern times. Given the rise in the number of suicides and suicidal attempts each year, the prevalence of suicide, and its impacts on the social sphere, it is now apparent that this behaviour is too critical to be ignored.Having displayed a noticeable rise both in the world at large and in Turkey recently, the cases of suicide and suicidal attempts run in parallel with the mainstream, also in Kütahya, when taken on a local scale.Suicides and suicidal attempts that have displayed noticeable rises recently both in our country and in the world at large have shown a parallel increase in Kütahya, when taken locally. Handling the act of suicide and suicidal attempts that have been attached much importance for today's societies from a sociological perspective will help us to understand and analyze the underlying problems better and find the solutions to minimize this problem.Keywords: Suicide, Suicidal Attempt, Suicidal Theories, Social Variables, Sociological Perspective, Kütahya.
