Abstract (EN)
In respect of residence architecture, since the construction system of the houses in Kütahya and Emet, which were in Anatolia's region of wooden, was entirely founded by using wooden materials on foundation, these houses hadn't existed long enough. Furthermore, changes in life styles in other words transition from a traditional life to a modern life had caused to leave these houses with their own fates. The deterioration of the roofs of some houses had also caused the deformation of their ceilings and in the result it was thought suitable to demolish the roofs and ceilings entirely and renew them. In this study, the ceilings of the traditional houses in Kütahya and Emet had been examined, among the ceilings of the room and hall which could still remain original, the photographs of only important ones had been taken, their inventories had been brought out and they had been documented for transferring new generations. A great importance was given to examine the parts of traditional wooden ceilings which were caught the eye in respect of centre, corner and aesthetics. From this point of view; it had been observed that there were similarities and differences among common production and decoration techniques, dimensions, upper surface procedures of the ceilings. It had been seen that wood which was used in producing the ceiling was yellow pine and black pine.
