Abstract (EN)

Marriage is the building block of the family. Marriage is a religious establishment which draws the individual away from the harams (illicit). Marriage, is the clash to find peace by finding the well-matched partner, but at the same time, it is the ability to find happiness in this struggle after all. As it takes its source from Quran and Sunnah, marriage is regarded as prayer at the same time. On the one hand, these ayet and hadiths demarcates the boundaries of the foundation of marriage; on the other hand, it determines the responsibilities and amenabilities of the partners. For both the individual and the society, there are countless remedies and goodnesses in marriage. These are the divine blessings which conduce to achieve the eternal life and to live this life's happiness. This life's and afterlife's happiness could be achieved by obeying to Allah's commands and our Dear Prophet's advices. One of these commands and advices is the singles to marry. Our Prophet (p.b.u.h.) adviced marriage and has been a model for us by getting married. In the scope of this project, the hadiths related to marriage in Kutub al-Sittah has been determined; the various precautions adviced in the different stages of marriage has been searched from Hadith sources and it has been supported by ayets (verses) from the Holy Quran; evaluations has been made by making use of other sources which are written in the field of Islamic Sciences and modern data. In this sense, Kutub al-Sittah and other Hadith books and their exegesis; the meal (meaning) and tefsir (commentary) of Holy Quran; the literature of Fıkh; published or digital editions related to the subject are used as base sources. In the scope of this research, it has been important to put forward the right and incorrect sides of marriages with an academic perspective in the light of hadiths, investigating and evaluating the Islamic appropriateness of engagements, weddings and wedding ceremonies which hundreds of them are held everyday in our country. For this reason, it has been aimed to put forward the conditions and stages of marriage in a scientific context and to put forward the realities of the marriages which is demanded in Islam with hadiths.
