Abstract (EN)

Shell forms are the shaping of a metal sheet into a fluid, light, solid and three-dimensional organic structure. The resulting three-dimensional objects have a more elegant and professional appearance than flat parts. For centuries, objects such as teapots, pitcher, and bowls have been made by sinking and raising techniques that move metal along a plane. While beautiful pieces were created with these techniques, there was little expansion in basic form and function. Anticlastic forming, also known as reverse raising, offers metalsmiths new methods of creating shell forms. With this innovative technique, metal has become an impressive tool from a utilitarian tool and the forms have been moved to an expressionist art form. In this study; In the light of the domestic and foreign literature examined, jewelry basic techniques, the processes that form the basis of metalworking, the introduction of metals and tools used in shaping, and the necessary information about shell structures are included. The construction processes of the basic forms obtained by synclastic sinking and anticlastic raising techniques are explained with visual support. As a result of the experimental applications made within the scope of the research, jewelry was produced from the forms reached.
