A woman-centered folkloric analysis in the Turkish theater of North Macedonia and Kosovo

Theater is a branch of literary art that has taken its source from human beings from the oldest primitive rituals to the present day. Following the changing social world order, the theater changes with the community. It is known that in Turkish theater, plays with traditional Turkish folk theater features were a tool that entertained people and provided them a chance to socialize. The function of the theater continued in the 19th century. The developments in the Turkish theater, which developed with the influence of the West, are also seen in the theater movements of the Turks living in the Balkan lands. In this study the folkloric elements of women are analyzed based on the Turkish theaters of North Macedonia and Kosovo. In addition to the plays published in Sesler Magazine and Çevren Magazine and written by authors named Mustafa Karahasan, Hüseyin Süleyman, İlhami Emin, Süreyya Yusuf, Lütfü Seyfullah, İrfan Belür, Cemail Maksut, Şerafettin Nebi, Hasan Mercan, Durmuş Selina, Aziz Buş, Agim Rifat Yeşeren, and Nuhi Mazrek other plays published in various forms were analyzed. It was decided to conduct research covering Turkish folk literature products and folklore elements in the study, in which women were centered. For this purpose, the folkloric elements of Turkish women living in North Macedonia and Kosovo were examined and determined.
