Abstract (EN)
Blueberry is a remarkable fruit with its high antioxidant and anticarcinogenic properties. From the early 2000s to the present, its production areas have increased and its consumption has become widespread. In this study conducted in 2024, fruits of Bluecrop, Darrow, Patriot and Duke varieties were harvested at the first harvest and their pomological and chemical properties were examined in a laboratory environment. In terms of fruit weight, the largest fruits were found in the Duke variety (1.77 g), and the smallest fruits were found in the Bluecrop variety (1.25 g). Fruit width was measured as the widest in Duke (15.34 mm), and the narrowest in Darrow (13.53 mm). Fruit length was determined as the longest in the Duke variety (11.5 mm), and the shortest in the Bluecrop variety (10.72 mm). Brightness (L value) was measured as the highest in the Duke variety (32.25), and the lowest in the Patriot variety (27.23). The a value for the color change from green to red was highest in Bluecrop variety (2.84), and the lowest in Patriot variety (2.27). The b value for the color change from blue to yellow was highest in Bluecrop variety (-3.98), and the lowest in Duke variety (-6.29). Titratable acidity was found to be highest in Darrow variety (2.97%), and the lowest in Duke variety (1.26%). Soluble solids content (SSC) was measured highest in Patriot variety (11.17%), and the lowest in Duke variety. Ascorbic acid level was found to be highest in Bluecrop variety (1.38 g/l), and the lowest in Duke variety (1.14 g/l).
