Northeastern Anatolian folk beliefs (Kars-Ardahan-Artvin)

Our thesis titled Northeastern Anatolian Folk Beliefs consists of three chapters. The first part is discussed under the headings of the history, geographical location, population, economic situation and ethnic structure of the provinces of Kars, Ardahan and Artvin, respectively. In the second part; It was examined in the form of folk beliefs, characteristics of folk beliefs and studies conducted in Turkey on folk beliefs. In the third part of the thesis; The information compiled in the research field was discussed under the title of Ceremonies and Beliefs in Human Life. It was examined under the subheading of transition periods of life (birth, wedding, death). In the same section, beliefs about cults compiled in the region are discussed. The influence of beliefs about fire, water, mountain, tree, soil and stone cults in the region and how they preserved their existence in daily life were examined. In the same section, beliefs about the sky and celestial bodies, beliefs about natural events, beliefs about the human body and human behavior, beliefs about animals, objects, food and drinks, numbers, days of the week, colors and extraordinary places, extraordinary beings and folk medicine. place is given. It is seen that the beliefs of the ancient Turks are still being practiced among the people in the Northeastern Anatolia region, where they have changed shape and preserved their existence
