Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, "Turkish and Kazakh Relations from the Birth of the Kazakh Nation to the Present", the historical development of the Turkish-Kazakh relations after the establishment of the Kazakh Khanate in the 15th century was tried to be determined by using the methods of history science. In this research, the social and cultural dimension of the relations rather than the political part was discussed. It is known that the first political relations between Ottoman Empire and Kazakh Khanates started in 18th century. A diplomatic contact had begun with the letter of the Kazak Khan Gaib Muhammad to the Sultan of Ottoman Ahmet III, who was the leader and patron of the Islamic world at that time, in order to get rid of Kalmyk and Russian influence. In the research, these contacts were tried to be put forward in the light of archival documents sent by the Ottoman Sultan Ahmet III to Kazakh Khan. The political reasons of the relations between the Ottoman Empire and the Kazakh Khanate in the 16-19th centuries and the lack of transportation facilities of the era indicate that the political relations between the two states are not very close and high. These relations between the two sides gained a sudden intensity with the activities of the Russians starting from the first half of the 19th century and continued to increase this intensity until the last quarter of the century. In the second half of the 19th century, after the Russian government completely occupied the Turkestan Khanates, they tried to control the relations of all the Central Asian Turks with foreign countries. Tsarist Russia feared that the people of Turkestan would rebel against the government in case of contact with Ottoman Turks and prevented them from establishing relations with Ottoman Turks. In this study, the reasons and results of the smear campaigns carried out by the Tsarist Russia authorities against the Ottoman Turks living in Kazakhstan in the 19th century, giving religious education and dealing with trade are evaluated. The information about the social situation of the deportees before they were deported to the Ottoman lands was given in detail and the accusation movements are stated in detail. In addition, the letters of correspondence between the Russian General Governors governing Kazakh territory and the deportations of Turkish citizens are analyzed on the basis of the Central Archive documents of Kazakhstan. In the other parts of the thesis, the history of the migration movements of Kazakh Turks from East Turkestan to Anatolia in the 20th century has been discussed. In addition, cultural relations between Kazakh Turks which was under the Soviet Government in the 20th century and Turkey in 1980 are assessed in light of archival documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan. İn the last chapter which titled "Turkey and Kazakhstan relationship", after Kazakhstan gained independence political relations in the field of education and culture with Turkey are mentioned. This study aims to make different determinations based on the data obtained from the Ottoman State Archives and Kazakhstan State Central Archives sources, scientific researches of modern historians, internet news, web sites of official institutions and newspaper archives. This study mainly in Turkey, studies in Kazakhstan in Kazakh and Russian sources often are used. As the photographs and texts of some documents are given in the annexes section, it was prepared based on the correspondence between the Ottoman-Kazakh Khanate, which we obtained from the Ottoman Archive Documents of the Prime Ministry.
