This study which is about the components of Kızılcahamam?s folklore isrelated to the cultural products known as ?Yabanabad? and their functions.Kızılcahamam, which can be described as virgin geography in the middle ofAnatolia, embraces the elements related to Turkish culture?s roots. The historicalroots of these elements determined by compilation method are analyzed and thesimilarities of the elements which live in the Turkish geography today areemphasized.This study is not only a cultural map but also it includes the historical andgeographical features of the area. Before the field study, historical sources aresearched and the compilation is prepared according to the results of this search.It is probable that the values which are imposed by innovation, technology, ingeneral modernism can erode value judgments, traditions and cultural elementsforbidden during eras in the geographies where same cultural values live together.The cultural values which are found out in the compilation have lived throughout thehistory and in a way resisted to modernism.Kızılcahamam region, with its every riddles, every poems and everyfolksongs, is a small model of Turkish-Islamic geography, a fortress and amonument of a culture country.
