Çağdaş Türk roman yazarlarının edebi motivasyonlarını koşullandıran sosyal süreçlerin incelemesi

This study examines the social origins of the literary motivations of contemporary Turkish novelists, their strategies for integration into the literary field, and their processes of literary production. It has been determined that novelists' motivations are shaped by socialization processes and that economic, social, and cultural capital plays a significant role in determining their place in the literary world. The research classifies the individual and social consciousness of novelists into four ideal types: "Hopeful," "Reserved," "Melancholic," and "Ambiguous." Hopeful novelists express a desire for social change by reflecting societal issues in their works, while reserved novelists primarily seek individual escape and creative play. Melancholics focus on the darker aspects of society, whereas ambiguous novelists occupy a more uncertain position. This study considers the act of writing by contemporary Turkish novelists as a valuable form of resistance amidst political, economic, and social crises. Highlighting the importance of social and cultural contexts alongside individual agency, this research presents literary creativity as a phenomenon conditioned by social processes.
