Anadolu Üniversitesi'nin çift dilli öğrencilerinde Fransızca kullanımının yazılı anlatım becerisine etkisi

Bilingualism becomes a universal and continuous phenomenon thanks to globalization that involves international communication and exchange. It is therefore essential nowadays that each individual knows a second or even third languages / cultures. That is why our research aims the Bilingual Immigrant Students at the Bachelor and Master level of FFL (French Foreign Language). The main objective of our study was to analyse the effect of the use of the 2nd language (French) on written production. In order to achieve our goal, we used qualitative and quantitative methods. A questionnaire is used in order to determine the intensity of use of the Turkish and French languages as well as the area of use of French. Then we proposed to the participants to write two different texts, one in the personal field, the other in educational. Finally, the data obtained was supported with semi-structured interviews. According to the results, no relation was found between the intense use of the French language and the level of success in written skill, while the specific use of the language in a specific field leads to good results in this same field. So, the interview results indicate that the participants have difficulties in orthography and grammar. In order to remedy these problems, the participants suggest to read more intensively and to reexamine their weak points with the help of the grammar books.
