Abstract (EN)

This study is about the cultural integration of people who comes from different ethnic origins, but who gives creations with the same language. At this point, the creation from Tunisian origin writer Albert Memmi's background La statue de sel was analyzed in order to observe, the language and the individual identities interaction in colonized societies. From beginning of 20th century, process of the integration of Tunisian Jewish minority society to dominant French culture was discussed from the writer's historical perspective. It is followed from the studies on minority societies of Denys Cuches and Jean-Claude Kaufmann's contradicted identity growth under pressure. It is explained by the writer with the related period's popular existentialism flow that the Jewish minority who freed from the "Dhimmi" status are estranged from their roots, especially on their cultural and linguistic legacy. Albert Memmi is defined as a pioneer francophone writer who comes from ancient colonized countries and who used literature world as a tool to become free. After this observation, it is possible to suggest that, damaged minority identity can be improved by education.
