Özet (EN)

In this study, we give information about Muslim and non-Muslim women lived on Galata, which is the one of the major region of the capital city of Ottoman, during time of Tulip Age (1718-1730). In the study, chronics providing information about the period between 1718-1730 years Galata kazasker belonging to prominent up, complaint books and Ali Emiri, Cevdet the local archives of the central archive documents in other funds such as Galata Sharia Sicilia. Besides in the preparation of this study, we use the region shari'a courts of the boks, archival documents travel books and study. This thesis consists of introduction and five main sections and conclusion. In the introduction we first explain studies concerned on Ottoman Women, then share some literature finally give the aim of this thesis. In first section we give a brief history of Istanbul political atmosphere of the time, Galata's situation in this time, demographic structure and quantity of application to the court of Galata. In the section we focus on probable incidence that women can face in the family such as augment, marriage and divorce. In the third section we present the rote of women in economical life and give reason of richness of these women and some information about what they to by their savings. In the fourth section we discuss station of women in the court. In the fifth section, we emphasize the role of women in society and their role about contribution to the foundations. We complete the thesis by making general evaluation and comments on women. We hope that this thesis will contribute study on Ottoman women history.
