11 THE EFFECTS OF BENDING RESISTANCE THE SPECIES OF WOOD, GLUE TYPE AND NUMBER OF LAYER IN LAMINATED WOOD MATERIAL (M. Sc Thesis) Nihat DÖNGEL GAZI UNIVERSTY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY January 1999 ABSTRACT In this study, it has been researched to effects of bending resistance the species of wood, glue type and number of layer in laminated wood material, using table, coffee table foots and sitting furniture. For this purpose; it was tested to determine the bending resistance of experimentals prepared from 3, 5 and 7 lahyers materials, which are widely used scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris 1.), beech (Fagus oriantalis 1.) and oak (quercus petrea 1.) wood based on DIN 52186. Experimentals were bonded PVAc, Desmodur-VTKA and klebit 303. At the result of experimentals, it has been obtained the highest bending resistance in 5 layers beech wood with bonded PVAc adhesive.lt has fallowed more and more decreasing by 7 layers scotch pine with bonded Desmodur- VTKA adhesive,7 layers oak with bonded klebit 303 adhesive, 7 layers beech with klebit 303 adhesive, 3 layers scotch pine with bonded klebit 303 adhesive and 7 layers oak with bonded PVAc adhesive.
