Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to improve the mechanical properties of laminated wooden beams by using FRP and steel rope composites in laminated wooden beams. Thanks to the findings obtained, it is aimed to reduce the beam cross-sectional area for the required strength conditions in wide-span systems with structural laminated wood materials. Within the scope of this study, it is envisaged that the use of wood, which is an environmentally friendly and sustainable building element, will be made more economical and safer instead of reinforced concrete and steel elements used in crossing wide spans. In this way, it will be possible to achieve the desired strength properties with smaller cross-section laminated wooden beams. In addition, the need for wooden materials is increasing due to the increasing world population. With this study, the need for wood can be reduced by using reinforced wooden materials that can do the same job in smaller sizes, or building elements with lower mechanical resistance and lower cost can be used.
