Abstract (EN)
In this study, adsorption of Lanaset Red (LR) G on walnut (Juglans regia L.) husk was investigated as effects of particle size, adsorbent dose, initial pH regimes, temperature, initial dye concentration, and interaction time. Natural and dye loaded adsorbent was characterized by FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. Results indicated that amount of dye uptake per adsorbent significantly increased with increasing initial dye concentration (p<0.01). The pHzpc of walnut husk was found to be as 6.1. Maximum adsorption of LR G was reached at pH 1, 0.5 g/l adsorbent dose, and 125-250 µm small particle size. The adsorption process was rapid in the first 60 minutes of the study and then remained constant with increasing contact time. The adsorption kinetic data was well described by pseudo second order kinetik model. Equilibrium data was evaluated by isotherms of Langmuir and Freundlich. According to values of SSE and correlation coefficient (R2), the Freundlich model was appropriate isotherm to describe the adsorption of LR G on the walnut husk. Results indicated that walnut husk had a great potential for removing of LR G as an eco-friendly process.Keywords: Adsorption, Juglans regia, Lanaset Red G, modeling, walnut husk
