Materials and Methods: Research, Uludag University Faculty of Medicine department of general surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed. Our sample, 30 control, 30'su experimental group consists of a total of 60 patients. Collection of data, personal data form, the Beck Anxiety Inventory and the Patient Education Form. The data analysis of the number and percentage were evaluated. Independent Samples t-test comparison of variables between the groups in age, total scale scores between the groups if the group number greater than two Kruskal Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test was used for comparison between the two groups. Chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical variables between the groups. In this study, p <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Analysis of the study, SPSS 13.0 (Chicago, IL.) Results and Conclusion: The average age of the patients was 53.9 ± 12.67. 21 percent of the control group women, 9 out of men, the experimental group, 20 women and 10 percent are male patients. When analyzed according to gender distribution did not differ between the groups (p = 1.00 and p> 0.05). Ratio of female patients in both groups were more likely than men. In both groups, the number of illiteracy is 2. Looking at educational attainment between the groups did not differ between the two groups (p> 0.05). The survey of experimental and control groups in terms of anxiety, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p> 0.05). By level of education of the patients examined, no statistically significant difference was found between anxiety scores(p> 0.05). Anxiety scores were also compared to the control and experimental group although there was no significant difference between the two groups, the control group was slightly higher than the experimental group of patients with anxiety.
