Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determination of morphological, agricultural characteristics and development of propagation techniques of some naturally grown Lathyrus species (L. rotundifolius subsp. miniatus, L. roseus and L. czeczottianus) and grasspea variety (L. sativus var. GAP Mavisi) in Rize conditions for 2 years. The research was carried out in two phases as field and laboratory studies. Morphological and quality characteristics of Lathyrus species were investigated in the field study. In the laboratory study, Tetrazolium viability rate, germination test with Giberelic acid and tissue culture studies were performed. As a result of the research, the combined of 2 years to lowest-highest results of Lathyrus species; morphological characteristics plant height 33.50-129.92 cm, stem width 1.54-8.30 mm, petiole length 1.37-5.85 cm, leaf length 3.07-7.79 cm, leaf width 0.87-3.34 cm, number of pods per plant 6.34-184.63 units/plant, pod length 3.97-6.72 cm, pod width 0.65-1.23 cm, number of seeds per pod 2.33-8.84 units/pod, 1000 seed weight 19.56-143.68 g, seed yield per plant 0.71-78.77 g/plant, biological yield per plant 38.67-214.83 g and harvest index %1.60-37.87%. The quality characteristics were raw ash rate of 2.88-7.33%, dry matter rate 92.72-95.97%, crude protein rate 10.90-16.37%, ADF rate 37.21-48.08%, NDF rate 55.13-70.09%, DDM (Digestible Dry Matter) 51.45-59.91%, DMI (Dry Matter Intake) 1.71-2.18% and RFV (Relative Feed Value) 68.93-101.09. The results obtained from the laboratory study, on the other hand, showed that the lowest-highest viability rate was 80-100% in the Tetrazolium viability test, the lowest-highest germination was 0-100% after 28 days of application of gibberelic acid at different doses, and in a tissue culture study on in immature cotyledons of two Lathyrus species, the highest shoot regeneration rate and the number of shoots per explant were determined in L czeczottianus (40%, 0.46) and L roundifolius subsp miniatus (20%, 0.43) respectively.
