U.S. foreign policy in Latin America within the framework of neoclassical realism: Obama and Trump eras

Realism is one of the oldest theories in international relations. Classical neorealism is an analysis method used in foreign policy analysis with its variables. US foreign policy, which is shaped around many variables, is suitable for analysis with neoclassical realism. The relationship between the United States and Latin America has been maintained for many years based on cultural, historical and geographical norms. US foreign policy towards Latin America is based on security, economic and political interests. For the United States, it has been important to maintain relations with political structures that act in accordance with its interests. The characteristic features and perceptions of some presidents may also lead to different perspectives. In Latin America Obama and Trump have presented similar and different policy perceptions with these perspectives.
