Turkey travel motivations of Latin American tourists

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the travel motivations of tourists coming to Turkey from Latin American countries were examined. Depending on the purpose of the research, answers were sought to the questions of what stages the participating Latin American tourists went through before traveling to Turkey, their impressions of their trip to Turkey, and whether the tourists tended to be voluntary Turkey promoters. In the study, a study group of 40 people, 32 female and 8 male, was formed by using the maximum diversity method. A semi-structured interview form consisting of seven questions developed by the researcher was used to collect data. Descriptive analysis was carried out on the collected data. When the findings obtained from the analysis of the data are examined; It has been seen that tourists are not only interested in cultural and social life, but also in the cities they have seen in Turkish TV series, and they plan their travel accordingly. Furthermore, geographical areas formed by natural landforms can also become tourism attraction centers. With these features, Turkey has also attracted the attention of Latin tourists in this context. It is among the results obtained that Latin tourists show interest in nature and beach tourism. It is among the results obtained that Latin tourists show interest in nature and beach tourism. It has been observed that Latin American tourists' impressions of Turkey are generally very positive. It has been observed that individual experiences differ, and tourists maintain their positive feelings towards Turkey despite negative experiences. Participating Latin American tourists gave the impression that they would act as volunteer Turkish cultural ambassadors when they returned to their countries.
