Abstract (EN)
L. officinalis is an evergreen tree or shrubs. Different parts ofthe plant have been used for various biological activities in folk medicine.It is also used in alcholic beverages because of its bitteralmond taste.The fruits contain sugars, fenolic acids, carboxylic acids anda cyanogenic glyocoside.In this study antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extracts ofthe fruits and seeds of L. officinalis were investigated on streptozotocininduced-diabetic rats and % efficiency of ethanolic extracts was alsocalculated. As a result, antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extracts ofseeds were found to be greater than that of the fruits.
