Yabancı dil olarak Almanca ders kitapları: Sözlüksel çeşitliliğin derlem tabanlı bir analizi

This study aims to demonstrate the frequency, distribution by their types and the meanings of the words in the German as a foreign language course books published in both Turkey and Germany and also to build a corpus related to course book dictionaries. During the study, the frequency of the words in the course books are found out with the help of Sketch Engine, token/type ratio are set in order to identify the specificity of the word types in the corpus and then Likelihood (LL) and Old Ratio (OR) tests are applied to define the words. As a part of the study, the importance of the corpus comes from creating a course book dictionary and the corpus is named as Hakan Dolan (HD) Corpus. In accordance with the findings obtained, the word frequency is composed in order of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions. On the other side, the Token/ Ratio calculations applied with the aim of demonstrating the specificity and range of the words lead us to conclude that adverbs are the most commonly used word types whereas words with the highest frequencies have the lowest range. According to the findings, we can conclude that the high frequency of the words does not have an influence on the range of the word types. Consequently, the LL and OR rankings give us clues about the specificity and range of the words that take place at course books in HD-Corpus and lead us to conclude that there is a high resemblance rate.
