Economic and social life in the Ottoman state of the Levant Herald Newspaper according to the news of 1877

In our study titled "Economic and Social Life in the Ottoman State According to the News of 1877 of the Levant Herald Newspaper" is aimed to explain the general economic, social and political situation in the Ottoman State in 1877, the cyclical changes inside and outside and how these changes affect the Ottoman State tradition and bureaucracy and the multinational Ottoman society, through the news of the Levant Herald newspaper published in English by the minorities in the Ottoman Empire. The scope of the thesis is the weekly copies of The Levant Herald newspaper in 1877. Since the newspaper was not published between 20.06.1877-08.08.1877, a remaining total of 45 weekly copies were used. These copies have been examined one by one, and all news titles are organized in an excel page with the date of the news, the page containing the news and the column numbers, including English and Turkish languages. This index is in the appendices of our thesis. The index will enable a significant level of review-scanning for anyone wishing to use the news in the newspaper and will play an important roadmap role for them. It has been decided to write our thesis in three sections by classifying the news in the index. While evaluating the sections, secondary sources such as archive documents, theses, articles, books and others were also applied for supplementary or explanatory information related to the news. By means of our thesis, in the first year of the war, which was defined as the "93 War", there was an opportunity to examine the economic, social and political situation and developments in the Ottoman State successively and to look at historical events from a contemporary perspective.
