Leadership traits analysis: Putin, Trump and Erdogan assessment

Özet (EN)

The individuals emerges as an actor who is important in policy making throughout human history. These individuals are among the primary actors in the management of the structure called the state. In the state administration, the positions we can name as primary actors are the presidency and the prime ministery positions. The individuals in these positions are important in policy making and determining their country's foreign policies. The individuals in these positions actually appear as a political leader. These leaders react variously to these events with the leadership characteristics they have during a events their country faces. The theory put forward by Margaret G. Hermann, called leadership trait analysis, tries to determine the degree of their leadership traits based on the discourses of the leaders. The aim of this study is both try to reveal the influence and importance of Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan who are the leaders to be evaluated, with case studies and determine the degree of their reactions to some foreign policy events that their countries have faced, based on Hermann's theory. Chechnya, South Ossetia and Annexation of Crimea events in the Putin section; North Korean Missile, Iranian Nuclear Deal and Chinese Trade War events in the Trump section; 1 March 2003 Missive, Mavi Marmara and the Crashed of Russian Aircraft events in the Erdogan section will be subject to scrutiny.
