Abstract (EN)

Narrowband UV-B treatment has been used for LRP in recent years. Theeffectiveness of the treatment had been also evaluated by the clearence of thepapula of the lesions in the literature. This clinical research was planned fordetermining effectiveness of the narrowband UV-B treatment for LRP. NarrowbandUV-B treatment was used for 10 patients with LRP who were admitted to DokuzEylül Üniversity Dermatology Department. The narrowband UV-B treatment was usedfor 3 times in a week and total treatment time was 12 weeks. All patients completedthe treatment. The results of the treatment were evaluated by using the clearence ofthe papula, violaceous colour, scale of the lesions and pruritus. The all patients were evaluated before the narrowband UV-B treatment forpapula, violaceus colour, scale of the lesion and pruritus. The repeated examinationswere done at 4th weeks, 8th weeks and at the end of the treatment (12th weeks). The mean values are 3.33 for papula, 3.30 for violaceous colour, 2.50 for scale of thelesions and 2.90 for pruritus before the treatment. The mean values are 0.60 forpapula, 0.60 for violaceous colour , 0.20 for scale of the lesions and 0.30 for pruritusat the end of the treatment.According to the clinical observations there was a great improvement in thelesions after narrowband UV-B treatment of the LRP. The statistically analysis of thevalues showed that there is statistically significant difference between before andafter the narrowband UV-B treatment. As a result narrowband UV-B treatment has been frequently used for LRP inrecent years. This study also showed that narrowband UV-B treatment is veryeffective and safe method for LRP.
