Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT BIONOMICS AND THE NATURAL ENEMIES OF Liriomyza trifolii (BURGESS) (DIPTERA; AGROMYZIDAE) Mehmet KEÇECÎ M. Sc. Thesis Adviser: Asst. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin GÖÇMEN June, 1995, 37 pages The developmental period, longevity and fecundity of Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) at three temperatures, 19±1°C, 26+l°C and 32+l°C; the rate of adult emergence from pupae at the same temperatures and at three r.h.'s 40+5%, 62+5% and 85+5%; the host preference for oviposition and feeding; the developmental period in different hosts were investigated. Additionally surveys were made to ascertain the parasitoids of L. tri fol i i. The developmental periods were 26.1, 15.2 and 11.6 days; longevities were 19, 14 and 7 days; fecundities were 82.9, 134.1 and 42.1 eggs per femele at 19°C, 26°C and 32°C, respectively. The rates of adult emergence from pupae were 33.5%, 41.0% and 27.8% at 40% r.h. and above mentioned temperature, respectively; they were 66.7%, 72.3% and 50.0% at 6 2% r.h., and were 8 2.0%, 8 2.3% and 74.0% at 8 5% r.h. and the same temparatures, respectively. The developmental periods were 15.2, 14.7 and 14.6 days on cowpea, eggplant and green pepper, respectively at 26±1°C. Cowpea was the most preferred host for oviposition and feeding. Two eulophid parasitoids of L. trifolii were found Hemiptarsenus varicornis (Girault) and Chrysonotomyia (Neochrysocharis) formasa (Westwood) (Eulophidae: Hym.).
