Abstract (EN)

Baglama is one of the most important cultural symbols of the society we live in, whose roots go back to Central Asia. This ancient saz has undergone many changes over the centuries, both in structural form and playing style. The lands we live in have trained countless artisans, folk artists and poets, with or without school, who represent the culture of our geography by playing this instrument. In this sense, instrument education plays an important role in transferring our culture to future generations. Today, one of the most important institutions among the institutions that provide training for advanced performance is the State Conservatories, which provide undergraduate education. In our research, it was aimed to examine the positive and negative aspects of the various reasons for preference for the baglama instrument of the individuals who were educated as students in conservatories. The research serves a purpose for due diligence and exhibits a descriptive structure. During the research process, digital and written sources were scanned and information on the subject was tried to be obtained, then quantitative and qualitative findings on the subject were obtained and evaluated by applying personal interview and survey techniques to the state conservatory students who chose the baglama instrument. If some of the research results are listed; The situation of knowing the instrument before undergraduate education is very effective in the selection of an individual professional instrument, the musical genre and instrument selection are parallel, the usage area of the baglama instrument and the job opportunities are wide, the baglama instrument can generally accompany most of the music genres in our country, the baglama instrument can be played as an instructor in the current state conservatories. Some of the first results that come to mind are that the baglama is an instrument that is not difficult to obtain under the conditions of Turkey.
