Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between cognitive flexibility, self-understanding and general self-efficacy in terms of some variables of undergraduate students. The population of the research consists of 353 undergraduate students who continue their undergraduate education in the 2020-2021 academic year and voluntarily answered the data collection tool published online. The research data were obtained with the "Cognitive Flexibility Inventory", "Self-Comprehension Scale", "General Self-Efficacy Scale" and the "Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher. Research data were obtained by one-way analysis of variance, independent sample t-test and correlation analysis technique. As a result of the analysis, female students have more positive self-concept than male students. In terms of general self-efficacy, male students have higher self-efficacy than female students. No significant difference was found in terms of cognitive flexibility, self-understanding and general self-efficacy score averages according to romantic relationship, grade level, mother and father education level. No significant difference was found in terms of self-understanding and cognitive flexibility mean scores according to perceived parental attitude. It was determined that the general self-efficacy score averages of the perceived disinterested parental attitude were lower than the perceived oppressive/authoritarian, overprotective and democratic parental attitudes. A positive correlation was found between general self-efficacy and cognitive flexibility.
