Abstract (EN)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been swiftly impacting employment markets and career opportunities for students globally. The present study examines the perceptions of undergraduate and graduate students regarding the influence of AI on their future careers. A quantitative methodology was utilized, employing the validated AAIEQS) self-administrated) survey instrument. The Cronbach's alpha of the survey was 0.767. Data were gathered from 402 valid responses from students at Anadolu University during the 2023–2024 academic year. Stratified random sampling guaranteed proportional representation among academic tiers. Data analysis was conducted utilizing SPSS, employing descriptive statistics including standard deviation, mean and percentage, and ANOVA tests to ascertain significant differences in perceptions. Findings indicate that the majority of students perceive AI as advantageous for career prospects. Male undergraduate students exhibited greater optimism regarding the potential of AI. In contrast, graduate female students articulated greater apprehension regarding the intricacies of AI and its potential to disrupt employment. Students recognized AI's contribution to industry expansion, yet many underscored the necessity for enhanced preparation and training. It is recommended to incorporate extensive AI-centric courses into university curricula to prepare students with pertinent skills. Practical training must correspond with industry requirements to improve career preparedness. Educational institutions must rectify gender disparities by offering specialized support and mentorship.
