A total of 465 high school students, 259 girls and 206 boys, aged between 14-19, studying in Yozgat Merkez and Şefaatli districts participated in the research. The datas were collected using the Personal Information Form, the Social Media Addiction Scale Student Form developed by Şahin (2018) and the Perceived Social Support Scale developed by Yıldırım (1997). Scanning model was used in the research. Social Sciences Statistics Package Program (SPSS) was used to analysis of the data. To test the normality, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, descriptive statistics to determine students' social media addiction and perceived social support scores, Mann-Whitney U test for two variables, Kruskal-Wallis H test for more than two variables were used. The Sperman Rho test was used to determine the relationship between social media addiction and perceived social support. As a result, it was determined that the social media addiction of the students was at a moderate level. While social media addiction scores did not differ according to gender, school type, education level of parents, and tool variables used for social media, class, academic achievement, average monthly income, whether there was an internet connection at home, how long they used social media and social media usage purpose differed according to the variables. According to another result of the study, it was seen that the students' perceived social support levels were high. While perceived social support scores differ according to gender and whether there is an internet connection at home, class, school type, academic achievement, mother and father education level, monthly average income, how long they have been using social media, the purpose of social media use, and the use of social media for social media purpose did not differ according to devices variables. It was determined that there is a negative relationship between social media addiction and perceived social support. According to this result, it can be said that as the perceived social support level decreases, social media addiction increases. In order to reduce social media addiction, trainings can be organized in cooperation with Provincial/District National Education Directorates and Guidance and Research Centers. Local administrations (Governors, District Governorates, Municipalities, etc.) and Non-Governmental Organizations (Associations, Foundations, Chambers, etc.) can provide social, cultural and sports activities in their regions, allowing students to spend time outside of social media.
