Examining the role of parental attitudes in the development of gender perception among high school students

Abstract (EN)

Research aims to raise awareness of those who read this by investigating the effect of parental attitude that is the most critical factor in the formation of roles that imposed on people due to gender perception in our country. Relational survey model is used at research. Focused on relationship between variables. In this investigation, parental attitudes which are democratic and authoritarian perceptions and high school students' gender perception were researched. People who attended to the research includes 206 high school individuals who studied in the 2021-2022, 2022-2023 academic years and agreed to join the research. Collected data is provided with "Personal Information Form" and 5 questions to specify sociodemographic characteristics of students. "Gender Perception Scale" measure to determine students' gender perceptions, and the "Parental Attitude Scale" to define students' parental attitudes. The survey form was uploaded to Google Forms and this application provides participants to participate this survey. Individuals are affected by their parents' cultivation styles and their thoughts. There is no doubt that parents who grows individuals influence on the formation of gender perception.
