The high school students opinions about the general objectives of physical education lessons

SUMMARYIn this study, the high school students? opinions about the general objectives of physical educationlessons in high school?s syllabus is asked and also the differences by the sex and departments of the students isresearched.The creation of this study is students who are in Ankara?s government high schools which are in citycenter counties in 2004-2005 education year. These government high schools are Cankaya County Deneme HighSchool, Mamak County High School, Keciören County Etlik High School. SPSS 10.0 statistical programme isused for evaluating datas and finding calculated values. According to a normality test, for ordinarydissociationed datas, One-Way ANOVA parametric test is used; for datas which are not ordinarydissociationed, Kruskal Wallis H non-parametric test is used. Mann-Whitney U test is used for comparingvariables in point of sex. Tamhane ve Tukey tests which are Post Hoc Multiple Comparisions tests for avariance homogeneous, are used for evaluating students in point of their school departments. In this study, errorlevel is 0.05 and 0,01.The result of the statistical analysis, there is a significant difference about the general objectives ofphysical education lessons in high school, between male and female students? opinions and between the studentsopinions? who are in Turkish-Mathemathics, Social sciences, Science sciences and Sports departments.As a result in the high schools which are joined the study, male students? avarage values about thegeneral aims of fitness lessons answers Aim 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9, are more favorable than female students? avaragevalues.The government high schools students? avarage values about the general objectives of physicaleducation lessons, for Aim 7, 10 and 13 for Sports department?s are more favorable than Turkish-Mathemathicsand Science sciences; for Aim 14 Turkish-Mathemathics, Social sciences and Sports departments? avaragevalues are more favorable than Science avarage values.The government high schools students? avarage values about the general objectives of physicaleducation lessons, for Aim 4 for Sports department?s are more favorable than Turkish-Mathemathicsdepartment?s avarage values; for Aim 5 and 6 Sports department?s avarage values are more favorable thanTurkish-Mathemathics and Science sciences departments? avarage values.The government high schools students? avarage values about the general objectives of physicaleducation lessons, for Aim 1 and 17 for Sports department?s are more favorable than Turkish-Mathemathics andScience sciences departments? avarage values.
