Investigating the relationship between high school students' levels of digital addiction and anti-mattering

In this research, it was aimed to determine the digital addiction and Anti-mattering levels of high school students according to different variables (general attitude of parents, class, gender, family income level) and to examine the relationship between digital addiction and Anti-mattering levels. The relational survey model, one of the quantitative methods, was used in the research. The research population consists of high school students who continue their education in public schools in the provinces of Çanakkale, Sakarya and Konya in the 2022-2023 academic year. 472 volunteer high school students randomly selected from the universe constitute the sample. "Personal Information Form" and "Digital Addiction in Adolescents" and "Anti-mattering" scales were applied to the students participating in the research. SPSS 26.0 package program was used when analyzing the data. Normality test was applied to select the necessary statistical method in the analysis of high school students' levels of digital addiction and Anti-mattering. Parametric tests were used to analyze the data determined to be normally distributed. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there was a positive and moderately significant relationship between high school students' digital addiction and Anti-mattering levels. It was determined that there were significant differences between the high school students' levels of digital addiction and Anti-mattering according to gender, family income level and general attitude of parents, and it was concluded that there was no significant difference according to grade level.
