Abstract (EN)
The subject matter of this research is to investigate religious perception of high school students who live in Mus province and to identify psycho-social effects that shape their religious thoughts and beliefs.High school years, which is an important part of adolescence, is a period when a wide range of religious tendencies and behaviours; namely, religious awakening and awareness, developing critism, doubt and reaction to conventional religious values, having inclination towards new religious preferences, being uninterested in religion temporarily or permanently or being dedicated to a religious community or a group are experienced. The people surveyed were asked fifteen questions in order to collect information about their personalities and preferences. Under the heading of perception of religion, the participants were asked to choose the expression that describes their religious preference best. There are twenty four questions in this section and our scale is of five-likert. Mus provine were chosen as the general. The sample space consists of three hundred and sixty one students who come from five different types of high schools, namely; Science High School, Anatolian High School, Imam-Hatip High School (Religious schools), General High School and Industrial-Vocational High School. The results of the survey were analyzed by SPSS, widely used software for statistical analysis in social sciences. In processing the data, percentage and frequency distributions and cross-tables against dependent and independent variables were created. It has been found that the answers of students from Imam-Hatip High Schools and Science High Schools are generally more positive than those of students from Anatolian High Schools, General High Schools and Industrial Vocational High Schools. As far as gender and age are concerned, although little differences have been found but they are not significant. In addition, neither the place lived for a long time nor financial situation has significant effect on perception of religion of the children. The overall conclusion drawn from the survey is that the only factors that shape religious perception of students are type of high schools and religious practice of parents
