Abstract (EN)
The main concern of this study was to determine the effects of television series and programs on the identity formation and social progress of the students studying at high schools in Kandıra township in Kocaeli. Along with this, the study tried to determine the effects of the school success, family relationships, friend groups, teacher-school relationship and of the actresses and actors appearing on television series and programs on the socialization of the young.The study included the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students studying at the public and private student. The survey was carried out with 120 students from 3 distinct socio-cultural and socio-economic schools.The resultant data of the study, considering the independent variables such as school, grade, gender and family structure, was transferred to tables by using the SPSS 16.0. The significance level of the study was accepted as 0.5.In the study conducted, when the measurement level of the variables was taken into account, the nominal and ordinal scales were used. Taking the arguments suggested and the measurement levels of the existing variables into consideration, The ki-kare test was used in this study. The thesis developed through the study conducted consisted of (151) pages and was titled as `The effects of television programs on high school students?.
