Abstract (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between internet addiction and cyberbullying/victimization, communication with parents, relationships with peers and some other sociodemographic variables. Material and Method: The research was designed in a relational screening model. A total of 320 people between the ages of 14 and 19 attended the study in 8 high schools in 4 different types in İzmir. While the dependent variables of 8 studies in 4 different types in İzmir Province are internet addiction and cyberbullying / victimization, independent variables are communication with parents, relationships with peers and some sociodemographic features. In the research, information form for socio-demographic characteristics, Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory, Young Internet Addiction Scale, Peer Relations Scale and Family Communication Patterns Scale were used. For data, number and percentage distributions and correlation analysis, Kruskal Wallis and Mann Witney U test were used. Results: It is observed that there is a positive-middle meaningful association between cyberbullying and cyber victimization, and a positive-weak meaningful association between internet addiction. Cyber victimization and internet addiction increase when cyber bullying increases, and internet addiction increases when cyber victimization increases. It was observed that cyber victimization and internet addiction increased when peer relations increased in the dimension of association, and cyber bullying, victimization and internet addiction increased when the scale of conflict increased in peer relations. Increasing the dialogue dimension in family communication decreases cyberbullying and behavior and internet addiction level. Conclusion: Internet addiction level of adolescents who experience cyberbullying or suffering is high. Internet addiction is significantly associated with cyberbullying and victimization, as well as relationships with peers and communication with the family.
